Emerging from Brisbane, Monsters Up North – comprising of Lachy Kerr (vocals/guitar), Cory Neal (drums), Max Lyall (bass) and Lachlan Cope (guitar) – have created a blend of vividly haunting lyrics with diverse sounds that make you want to head bang till you can’t no more. The band released their first EP The World’s Outside in 2019 followed by Quick Break At The Beach in 2020 which solidified their sound and their place in the alternative-punk scene.
Always full of energy and passion, Monsters Up North have made a name for themselves playing, often multiple gigs per week, throughout South-East Queensland. Their last single Smile, released in support of RUOK Day, speaks volumes about who the band are. Using lyrics and music full of honesty to scream out the words so many can’t speak themselves. Now, they are gearing up to drop their debut album, which promises to show a new, grittier side to the band, and the first single I Want You (To Know) will leave you dying to hear what’s next.
